Dust Cover Door Installation

STOP!!

YOU MUST ENSURE YOUR FIREARM IS FULLY UNLOADED AND PROVED SAFE BEFORE USING!!

PROVE
POINT THE FIREARM IN THE SAFEST AVAILABLE DIRECTION.
REMOVE ALL AMMUNITION.

OBSERVE THE CHAMBER.
VERIFY THE FEEDING PATH.
EXAMINE THE BORE.

ONCE SAFE, YOU MAY PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP.

TOOLS REQUIRED:
3/32 INCH HEX ALLEN KEY

BLUE LOCTITE (OPTIONAL)

Instructions work for all top mounted Dust Cover Doors
LTAC Raven Mid Length Upper Dust Cover Door [5.56 NATO]
LTAC Raven Long Length Upper Dust Cover Door [7.62 NATO]

NOTE: WHILE NOT NEEDED IN MOST CASES, YOU MAY ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF BLUE LOCTITE TO THE SCREW THREADS BEFORE INSTALLING FOR MORE PERMANENT INSTALLS.

DO NOT USE RED LOCTITE!



STEP 1: INSTALL DOOR SPRING ONTO SUPPORT ROD AND INSERT SPRINT END INTO FRONT SUPPORT ARM AS SHOWN.Step 1 DOOR SPRINGSTEP 2: SLIDE DUST COVER DOOR INTO POSITION

STEP 3: PRELOAD THE DUST COVER DOOR SPRING.
IN ONE HAND, HOLD THE DUST COVER DOOR FIRMLY. USE YOUR OTHER HAND AND COMPLETE ONE FULL COUNTER CLOCKWIRSE ROTATION OF THE THE FRONT SUPPORT ARM.
NOTE: MORE THAN 1 ROTATION CAN DAMAGE THE SPRING!
step 3 preload spring
STEP 4: INSERT PRELOADED DOOR ASSEMBLY INTO BRASS DEFLECTOR.
step 4 insert assemblySTEP 5: INSERT SCREW CENTER SUPPORT WITH THE TEXT "FRONT" FACING THE FRONT OF THE RECEIVER. INSERT SCREW INTO SUPPORT CLAMP AND TIGHTEN WITH A 3/32 INCH HEX ALLEN KEY.
NOTE: DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN 5 INCH POUNDS OF FORCE TO THE SCREW
step 5 tighten
STEP 6: TEST AND ADJUST FOR PERFECT OPERATION
WITH BOLT CARRIER INSTALLED IN UPPER AND FULLY IN BATTERY, CLOSE THE DUST COVER DOOR. IT SHOULD SNAP SHUT INTO THE FULLY CLOSED POSITION.

SHAKE THE FIREARM VIGOROUSLY TO ENSURE THE DOOR IS STAYING CLOSED PROPERLY.

IF DOOR OPENS WHILE SHAKING IT, SIMPLY LOOSEN THE SCREW AND SLIGHLY ADJUST THE FRONT SUPPORT ARM TO BE CLOSE TO THE BRASS DEFLECTOR. A TINY CHANGE MAY BE ALL THAT IS REQUIRED.

IF DOOR DOES NOT OPEN EASILY WHEN CYCLING BOLT, SIMPLY LOOSEN THE SCREW AND SLIGHLY ADJUST THE FRONT SUPPORT ARM TO BE CLOSE TO THE BRASS DEFLECTOR. A TINY CHANGE MAY BE ALL THAT IS REQUIRED.

TEST AND ADJUST.

Step 6 ADJUST

ONCE TESTING IS COMPLETE, YOUR PARTS ARE READY FOR USE!
