We run a 2 day course on the weekend to save you time!
Saturday: 9AM to 7PM (Non Restricted)
Sunday 9AM-4PM (Restricted)
If you like to book a private party of 10-12 people, we can schedule the course on any day and time that works for you.

Don't worry! Our goal is to ensure every single candidate gets the proper one one one time with an instructor to ensure you learn all the information require to pass the test like a breeze. If you pay attention and come with an excited attitude to learn, we will ensure we do everything we can to help you pass.
Where can this course take me?
Whether you’re interested in applying for a Canadian firearms license, or are simply interested in learning more about gun safety, this is the course for you. It’s the first step for those looking to get into target shooting, hunting, a career in law enforcement, the outdoor sector or the movie industry.
Do I need prior firearms experience?
Not at all! This course is designed with the absolute beginner in mind. Our RCMP approved courses cover both non-restricted (long guns) and restricted (handguns) firearms in the most efficient manner available. We offer this course over either 1 day or 2 days including testing, depending on which courses you choose. Passing this course is a federal requirement to apply for your non-restricted and restricted Possession and Acquisition license (PAL).
This course includes
Safety rules (ACTS and PROVE).
Loading and unloading of 9 typical action types.
Brief firearms history.
Ammunition types (handgun, rifle and shotgun).
Best practices for using a firearm in the field or at the range.
Carrying positions and cleaning principles.
Overview of Canadian gun laws and regulations.
Hands-on practice session on deactivated firearms.
Safe Storage and Transportation
Federal multiple choice & practical tests (CFSC - non restricted).
Federal multiple choice & practical tests (CRFSC - restricted).
PAL application package, to be submitted to the CFO by the student after successful completion of the course.

Course Instructions:
Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to our facility in Lake Cowichan
You are encouraged to bring any food and water you may require.
During the breaks there is an A&W, Subway and Tim Hortons only a 5 minute drive away.
