    Raven Use

The RAVEN was designed to dominate the competition in every aspect.

RAVEN - Full Tool-Less Take Down: YES
RAVEN - Bolt: S7 Tool Steel with DLC Coating
RAVEN - Firing Pin: S7 Tool Steel Heat Treaded to 55 HRC

    S7 Tool Steel

S7Tool Steel is a shock resisting tool steel with excellent toughness and high strength.
When compared to mil spec Carpenter 158, the S7 tool steel provides a 75% increase in tensile strength, and 60% improvement in yield strength.
When compared to 4140, the S7 tool steel is roughly an 102% increase in tensile strength, and 114% improvement in yield strength.

    DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating
This coating is one of our favorites! It's an extremely tough, corrosion proof coating that has a very low coefficient of friction and bonds so tightly to the carrier that it's nearly indestructible.

    Cerakote coatings
Cerakote is a ceramic polymer based proprietary formulation that offers industry-leading durability, hardness, scratch resistance, corrosion resistance, flexibility, heat, and chemical resistance. Since Cerakotehas self lubricating elements incorporated through out the coatings matrix, firearms can function with little or no fluid lubricants minimizing typically abrasive dust particles which are attracted to oils.

    Why Ambidextrous?
While only about 10% of the population is left handed, many firearm owners train with both their strong side, and their weak side. Having symetrical buttons on both sides ensures you know exactly what you are doing on either side.

RAVEN - Upper Receiver Material: 7075-T6 Aluminum
    RAVEN - Lower Receiver Material:
    7075-T6 Aluminum

    7075-T6 Aluminum
    vs 6061
Why does 7075 series cost more?
Tensile strength of 7075-T6 is nearly 200% Stronger than 6061-T6.
Shear strength of 7075-T6 is roughly 150% more than 6061-T6.
